When is too early to give your newborn breastfed baby cereal?

When it seems like your child isn’t full enough... what do you do? What’s the next best thing when cereal is the next step?

Nothing but breastmilk or formula until 6 months of age. Why don't you think your baby is full? Mine is cluster feeding today which is misery but it does pass.

I’d skip rice cereal all together if that’s the route you were taking. If anything I’d start with puréed food around 6 months. Of course you’re the mom and only you know what’s best. This is just my two cents.

All of the above. The recommended time for introducing any “solids” is no longer 4 months but 6 months. (Unless suggested by your pediatrician for a specific reason).

It’s not recommended any time before 6 months, and in a bottle it’s a choking hazard. Rice cereal also has no nutritional value and has been known to contain arsenic. We skipped it completely

I keep nursing him when I seems like he isn’t full, i see it as a sign that he needs more and the more he nurses the more i produce. We started with oatmeal cereal at 4months, but he didn’t really care much for it so we waited a bit longer. Now at six months old he eat pretty much everything.
