What pain meds beside epidural do you get during labor?

It's been 5yrs since I had my last baby what do you normally get for pain?

I would like to know too! Lol it will be 6 years for me since my last. I know things are different now.

My hospital uses nitrous oxide if you don't want an epidural. That's probably what I'm going to end up doing if I want pain meds.

Me too. It's my first. And I'm starting to freak out about labor. Heard that's normal though.

With my daughter I had stadol bc I had such horrible back labor before I got my epidural.

I got stadol with mine. I felt every contractions and felt drunk and wanted to pass out. Lol. I was so loopy for a couple hrs. Pretty sure it slowed down my labor. So I will get the epidural only this time.

They give morphine.. But when I had my oldest son they gave Demerol

I was offered diamorphine which I refused, then was offered pethidine which I took and was horrible felt spaced out and didn't take the pain away.
