When start solid food?

When start solid food? Also, what are the best food to introduce to a baby? Thanks!

I'm not going by age. I'm watching for signs that he's ready. They say when your baby is ready, they should be able to sit up supported (as in sit in a high chair) and will watch you when you're eating and make chewing motions. My baby is a little over 4 months and just started intently watching while we eat. (Like stair the food down while it goes to my mouth and then stare at my mouth as I chew) he doesn't sit up well enough for a high chair yet and hasn't started chewing along with me yet. He hasn't had anything but breastmilk yet.

My doctor told me to start at 4 months but we didn't go into detail about what kinds and all that. It was at her 2 month check up.

I will do the baby led weaning . Baby basically decides herself when to start eating... Until then: beast milk.

Its definetely not good to feed babies at 4 months. If u do some research you will understand why. And what was the reason to start feeding babies that young.

I was reading an article about rice cereal and stuff and there were plenty of good points. Now I'm at a loss. I thought I was going to start some solids at 4 months but now I'm thinking I might just keep it to breast milk and start avocado first at 6... Here is the article I read

Absolutely not doing rice cereal. It's bad for digestion, not nutritional and is so bland which is believed to attribute to kids pickiness. If anything I would suggest those starting rice cereal to start with oat or quinoa cereal.

Yeah I agree 4 months. With the rice cereal. I most likely doing the baby purées myself. Seems cheaper and that way I know exactly is in everything. But Pinterest is a great help!!
