When would you start touring vendors?

Wedding is Feb 15th, 2020. So about a year & a half from right now! 
When would you start touring vendors to help you choose? 
First time wedding planning here, and my family never had big weddings so I’m almost completely on my own here lol! 
We’re trying to avoid hiring a planner & just using the guidance of a few people we know to help us!

As soon as possible. Especially if it’s a very popular place. They book up very quickly.

My wedding date is Oct. 22, 2019 and I’ve already booked because it’s a popular, all inclusive venue so they run out of dates QUICK. Go ASAP especially if you’re indecisive. That way you also have plenty of time to pay it off.

If you have booked your venue and have an official date it’s a good idea to look now. Booking at least a year in advance is a good idea. Great photographers and other vendors get booked quickly.

We had to book our venue and church two years in advance! Photographer, DJ, florist and such I booked about a year in advance. I liked having mostly everything out of the way early so there was no last minute scramble.

Places will often get booked a year or more in advance. When you take your tours, find out not only if your date is available, but when that date becomes available for booking. Depending on the popularity of the venues you tour, you a have to decide whether the location or date are most important to you. Weekday or even Friday/Sunday dates are often more easy to get than a Saturday date. Have fun!
