Induced or no????

First time momma here. If you chose to induce why did you? If you chose not to be induced why didn’t you? Help!?!? #23weeks

I’m a first time mom too but I’m also an OB. If I go past 39 weeks I’m going to choose to be induced, since a new study is coming out very soon showing it reduces risk of C section and preeclampsia. I think it’s a very individual decision though for each mom to make!

I’m so thankful for my induction! I was having false labor pains for days but couldn’t get past 3cm so they gave the okay to induce me at 39+5. I would definitely do it again. Had I gone into labor on my own I imagine it would’ve been pretty similar to how my induction went actually.

First time mom as well, but I’ve decided to avoid induction if I’m able to. The majority of women I know that were induced ended up having an emergency c section, one ended up hemorrhaging after delivery and needing emergency surgery anyway. The few that did deliver said it was awful, took days to progress, their bodies felt rushed, etc. 
Everyone is different though, and if it’s medically required I’ll ultimately do what’s best for my baby... but if all is well with her then I’ll be holding out as long as my doctor will let me.

I’m high risk and was induced with baby #2 at 39 weeks exactly and this baby they’re talking about induction at 37+6. I was nervous about the induction before but it honestly went very well and better than the natural labor I had with my 1st. I was in labor 4 hours start to finish, I pushed less than 10 minutes. And I had only 1 tiny stitch and was up and walking around within a few hours of being moved over to mother and baby. With my first i was unable to do any of that, it was an extremely rough delivery. So I’m not nervous this time at all about the induction process because I’ve been through it and I’m hopeful it goes just as well. However I am nervous at the thought of induction at 37+6 because it seems so early but at the same time I’ve very aware of the reasoning behind it and the complications making it necessary. So I’m trusting all the medical monitoring I’m going through and the testing leading up to and hoping for the best possible outcome. I’m currently 24+2. The complications this journey have been scary!

I got induced with my first at 41 weeks since I went past my due date and they gave me the option to wait until 42 but I chose not too. Good experience with the foley ballon and was in labor for 10 hours and 10 minutes of pushing and she was out!

i LOVVEEEDDD being induced with my first two! call me crazy LMAO. my first wasn't a planned induction, she quit moving so they induced me 2 days before i was due. she was born the same day that i was induced, roughly 12 hours after they started everything. ..... my second was a planned induction because he quit growing and it was pointless to keep him in any longer, he was born roughly a week early. same with him, i was induced first thing in the morning around 8 and had him at 4 p.m. .... now this pregnancy, I'm due black Friday [woo-hoo] and depending on how my 28 week ultrasound goes, depends on if I'll have a cesarean or not. i would rather plan another induction, simply because my body does well with them.

I was induced with my dd after going over my due date and would not voluntarily do that again. It was with a Foley bulb and then she broke my waters at 4cm. My labor was 31 hours and I stopped progressing after 24hrs at 8cm so I got an epidural and pitocin at that point.

Im also a first time mom and I do not want to be induced. Only doing it if my doctor forces me and I am over 40weeks+4days. I was born at 42+1 and I would rather give my baby all the time she needs.

Induced 2 days late with my second baby. I was miserable, but he was big and I knew I couldn’t have an epidural so didn’t want to risk a c section with general anesthesia. I was already dilated and effaced so it went well I just needed a small kick start. He did get stuck so with this baby I would choose to infuse again if I am due and baby is measuring big to avoid complications at birth so long as I am showing signs of being ready like my first 2:) my water qas leaking with me first but no contractions so technically induced but again I was dilated and effaced and it went great:)

I was induced at 41+3 with my first. My OB and her team did not do inductions before 41 weeks (unless it was necessary). 
I'm glad I waited as long as I did because when I went in I was having decent contractions already, I just didn't know it.
I didn't require any pitocin, my water broke on its own, it went very smooth overall.
A due date is just a guess, no need to rush to an induction before your body and baby are ready.
