Nutritionalist advice
Hi all. I went to buy some herbs today for conceiving and had made my list based on the many forums I go on. It was only by accident that I got speaking to the nutritionalist who said that some of what I was buying can be harmful when trying to concieve! I thought I should share her advice with you just as an FYI and warning
As a back story I'm on Cycle 2 since ending 13yrs of BCPs, ttc #1, and 27yo. Me and DH take pregnancy conception multivitamins daily, I do bbt temps and CM monitoring and have started pregnancy reflexology having always had standard reflexology.
After cycle1 I realised I have low CM production, I don't drink enough fluids, have poor circulation which can affect uterus blood flow, light periods which implied my lining is not thickening and a lot of phantom pg symptoms most likely due to BC use such as migraines, twinges, bloating.
I therefore wanted some extra help this month to stimulate blood flow to the uterus, make my lining thicker and increase my nutrients as I don't think I eat enough fresh veg etc. I worry that last time we BD at the right times and perhaps nothing stuck because I wasn't very hospitable in there!!
so I went to buy red clover and red raspberry leaf for circulation and lining thickness. Now, iv seen them both mentioned a lot on other forums and wanted to warn you that they are not being advised! . I was told that I must not have these if trying to concieve as they can cause uterune contractions and prevent an implantation or cause a misscaraiges and a period. It has made me think twice about what I read.
After the nutritionalist asked me why I wanted them she said I actually sound to have a hormone imbalance and didn't need to encourage blood flow but actually needed to regulate my hormones to produce a better lining. So she recommended maca powder and Angus castus which will make my lining thicker, regulate my cycle and increase libido (bonus when trying to BD a lot!). She has also put my DH on maca too interestingly! I also bought eve primrose oil as this naturally creates more CM.
So as of this month I am trying the above with my regular routine and hope that I hope look on the first go!
I strongly advise you speak to your nutritionalist thought instead of second guessing what others have done as what works for them may not work for us!!
