Newborn twitching/muscle spasms? Is this normal??

Question

This is my third child and I don't remember my first two doing this. My new baby does this a few times each day. It typically lasts around 10-15 minutes approx.
FYI - I did show his pediatrician, she didn't seem concerned, but I'm thinking about getting a second opinion. I know doctors don't know everything and do make mistakes.

I would definitely show to the doctor and if the first doesn’t address get a second opinion JUST to be safe.

I don’t want to freak you out, but get that second opinion. My niece did this (only with her arms) and my SIL knew something was wrong. She was ultimately diagnosed with infantile epilepsy. Twitching was the only sign.

My son used to twitch and shake his legs and arms when he was a newborn. The doctor said it was totally normal. He’s 14 months old now and perfectly fine.

My son used to twitch but his breathing gets kinda odd.. I would ask his dr asap...

It’s common to twitch in R.E.M. cycle. My husband does it and so does my daughter. I asked my Dr he said as long as it stops the moment they are awake and doesn’t happen when they are in deep sleep it’s perfectly normal...

My son did this. My drs got my due date wrong and I carried him for longer than I should have. He was very cramped up and had no more room left to go so when I had him he did this often. He grew out of it, he’s two now.

my Dr told me if I was able to record it, to call and let her know so she can see.. she also told me to see if I can stop the twitching by holding his arms or legs.. I would call us Dr just to make sure:)
