How many days do you recommend taking a test once your period is late

I took a test last Friday so roughly a week before my AF was due it was negative and the 25th it was due no AF had this off feeling today so I went and got one today and got my positive and I'm anywhere from 4-5 weeks I feel everyone is different bc some people can find out when they are a week to 2 weeks but not me

same boat if u want get a first response if h ready to take one but usually 5-10 days after missed  af it shows
