I want to try Colmid but it seems to difficult to get in New Zealand

I’m 36yrs old and I have been ttc for 8 months now and it doesn’t seem to be happening as easily for me as it has happened for my sister and mum. When they got pregnant it seemed to happen at the drop of a hat. My GP (Doctor) has been monitoring my progesterone levels to make sure I have ovulated and so far 2 out of 3 times the test has come back that I haven’t ovulated or the test was inconclusive.

I asked her if Clomid is something that she can prescribe, only to be told that, that can only be done by a Gynaecologist which means that unless I go private I could be waiting for another 6 months, just to have an appointment to talk about it with the Gynaecologist. Why, when the situation is already stressful do they make it harder? Can anyone tell what the process is to get a prescription for clomid where they live. Is it relatively easy?
