So yesterday I went out to lunch with couple of my mommy friends and did some shopping. When I left my husband with both our girls (2 year old and 2 month old) my oldest was perfectly fine and happy, get home 4 hours later and she’s got a fever of 103.7, covered in sweat, won’t eat or drink anything and had been sleeping since little after I left. I asked my hubs if he had given her Tylenol or anything, which he said no cause he forgot how to take her temp and how much Tylenol to give her. Ladies I have the weight and age chart for dosage on our refrigerator, he looks at it every time he opens the refrigerator, so I’m like wtf!really?and we have 4 different temp takers for taking her temp different ways(forehead,ear,arm pit,and butt) and he didn’t even try to use any of them. So all night I’m checking her temp to make sure it’s going down or up which it would go up and go down. Today she spiked to 104 nothing I did would bring it down(Tylenol,Motrin,lukewarm bath)so I took her into the ER. After ruling out ears,throat,and teething, they sent us home with more Tylenol saying since she only has a fever and no other symptoms they don’t know what she has and felt it was unnecessary to do a blood draw and that if she’s still fevering by Tuesday to bring her back, which I told them I would prefer them do the blood work since I have a 2 month old baby who isn’t breastfeed at home and would like to know what she has and not risk the baby getting it. Nope they insisted we just go home and wait till Tuesday. She’s been asleep since we left the hospital but is still warm(101temp) but they aren’t worried. I’m just so annoyed and pissed off.
