My little rainbow baby arrived a little over 2 weeks early. Last Tuesday (7-24) I went in for a regular check up and scan (high risk so at this point I was getting a scan every week). While I was strapped into those monitors, my doctor walked into the room and casually announced “I’m delivering you tomorrow.” After what felt like an hour of silence, through some very dry mouth, I asked why. He told me that my baby had stopped growing, and that my placenta had basically stopped doing what it needed to do and give her what she needs, my body was telling me she was done and ready, but nothing was happening. We had originally planned a C-section for August 3rd, 1 week before planned and 2 weeks before term, my beautifully perfect Rainbow baby Claire Ann arrived at 7:11pm est, weighing a grand total or 5lbs 14oz.

All the pain and soreness post surgery, every emotional rollercoaster for the past 9+ months, the healing from our previous loss, all of it was worth it just to hear her cry in that operating room.
