How far along am I?

Technically I’m 7w6d but my app says I’m in my 8th week. Am I 7 or 8 weeks along?! I’ve heard some people go by the week they are in and some people go by the week they’ve completed. Thoughts?

You’re 7 weeks. That’s how it’s tracked in pregnancy. Midwives/doctors will refer to you as 7 weeks too.

Stick with what you've completed. That's what doctors will do. You can say "I'm in my eighth week" but it still means you're not quite eight weeks along yet.

My OB went by the day of my last period, however when we told her we only had intercourse twice she decided to go with that date instead. I think it depends on if you know conception or not. Usually they go by the first day of your last period since some woman don’t know when they ovulated! If I went by period I would be 7 weeks, but going by conception date I am coming up on 4 weeks!
