My vagina smells bad

Idk why but since i got my period (a year ago) ive been dealing with bad smells in my vagina it dosent smell like fish but idk how to explain it and i kinda smell like the girls bathroom sometimes idk how to get rid of it i dont wash inside because i think that will through off the ph ballance so i wash the outside how can i get rid of the odor?? Are u supposed to wash inside?
