Tips for a relationship after graduating college?

My SO and I are certain that we will make our relationship work even after graduating college. We both have two more years of undergrad left, after which he wants to pursue a master's degree in engineering while I want to pursue a PhD in neuroscience. We are hoping to get into grad school programs at our current college, but if that isn't the case, we may have to go long distance for at least a year until he finishes his masters. Any tips for long distance and relationship after graduation in general?
