Healthcare is sooo F’d up in the US! *Rant

Okay so I’m 8 w & 6d with number 2. And at our first appointment the doctor asked and I said for the baby being screened for certain birth defects and things like that. I would just like to be able to TRY to somewhat prepare myself for a thing like that. Ya know. So my bitch ass health insurance DENIES approval. ( with my 1st pregnancy the doctors I was seeing “missed the window” for testing, then I moved to another doctor thank god my baby is healthy). They said there’s no family history. I’m sorry but you mean to tell me the ONLY way a child can have a birth defect is if there is a family history?!?!?!!! Yea that makes no sense. I’m just going to pray my baby is healthy again and if he/she is not, AND they have one of the defects I asked for I will be suing the shit out of my insurance company. Fuck this!
