Early test for gender?

Has anyone done the early test that looks for Y chromosome? I know it is not 100% but it would tell you if at least one is a boy or if they are both girls...right?

I have di/di and more than likely fraternal. With a chance of identical still if one egg early early. And my moms sister was an identical girl twin. However when we went in, paid for & had the blood already drawn up to send off to Harmony labs (there is only one I called) they called my obs office and told them that they have not and will not test for the genders of fraternal twins. I called later that day and explained what my ob had been told and told them that I had seen where many moms of twins had a chromosome test to find out and even though it wasn't 100% it could tell us two girls or if the boy gene was atleast present. Which would indicate one boy or two, but we stated that if that had been the result we would be ok waiting to find out specifics in that case at our anatomy ultrasound. He said that they were the only harmony lab and that they have not and will not be doing the chromosome test for twins because it isn't 100% accurate and they've had too many issues with angry parents. He also said to negate everything I had read online. I'm sooooo ticked that people are getting it done now. And they told us no 😩I'm going to call again today. It wasn't because of insurance because we were paying out of pocket for the test. And the only other thing my ob could think of was that maybe they said no because of my blood type. Which is O negative. Just soooo weird and frustrating.

The harmony test does not work for twins. It's not very accurate so they won't test twins at all. That's what my doctors have told me. And I have mono/di so they had to be the same sex and they wouldnt

I had the progenity test done around 10 weeks and my dr said it was extremely accurate at finding X and Y chromosomes and testing for Down syndrome.  She is a top high risk obgyn at UCLA and said she hasn't had one wrong yet?

Only males have Y chromosomes, so if Y chromosomes are found in mom's blood, she's likely carrying a baby boy. If no Y chromosomes are found, she's probably expecting a daughter. This is from the genetics test they do between 10-13 weeks that detects down syndrome it has to tell them gender to help them give  more accurate results because some defects are higher in males. The specialist I saw said it can tell with 98.5% accuracy if you are having identical twins if you are having fraternal it can only tell if you are having a boy or not. Hope that kind of makes since.

I had the progenity test. Y was present so we know there is at least one boy in there. They said it will take ultrasound pics to confirm gender on each baby but a least I got the heads up to start picking up some little boy clothes.

I had the verify test and it let me know one of my twins was a boy. I found out a few weeks later the other one was a girl :)

I have heard it isn't accurate for twins since it's simply looking for Y chromosomes, so you could have it done and it detect the Y chromosome which means there is for sure 1 boy but it cannot tell you if the other twin is a boy or girl.

I had the Maternit21 test at 10 weeks.  After two weeks of waiting for the results, it came back "not enough dna ".  I took another, only to wait another two weeks for the same result. My doctor also had another twin mom with the same two bogus results. He told me to the test is obviously not twin friendly, and had me go for the level 2 ultrasound five weeks later. That is when we found out we were having fraternal girls. :)
