right time to take a test?

hey everyone! 
i'm 3 days late and i've taken two negative pregnancy tests (both early in the morning).  is this too early?  don't really have symptoms besides tender breasts (which could also mean period) and being ++ tired (again, as a nurse this isn't unusual for me).  wondering if maybe i'm testing too early?

Hello. No it’s not too early. Most are over 99% accurate from the day your period is due and some from a couple of days before. Check the pack instructions. Once you’re late you should get an accurate result any time of the day unless you’re in the 1% so it’s almost certainly negative I’m afraid :) x

I had my first positive at 15-16 days LATE. I ovulated really late. Until AF is there still hope! :)
