7/30 my hcg was 5037, today it 8655. I know they generally say it should double in 48 hrs, but is this still good?

I'm way nervous about my hcg levels.
UPDATE: doctors called and they want to do an US on Monday to make sure things are okay since my numbers didn't double. Is this normal and is my baby okay?

I wouldn’t be worried about the increase! That’s a good sign. I’m worried about mine. I was 6 days before my period and got a faint line so I went and took the blood test. My Hcg a day ago was only at 16. I take another one tomorrow!

My understanding is that everyone is different. The fact that it is increasing is a great sign. It is possible that it doesn't continue to double as the hcg gets so high. Look at betabase.com and you'll see the average times for doubling of hcg which increases as you progress in the pregnancy and the hcg goes up. For your hcg range, the average time to double hcg is about 50 hours, but that is only an average. All of the pregnancies listed in the database are successful. I hope that helps ease your mind.
