My mom so she wasn’t shocked. I told her when I was 5 I didn’t want kids. Told her when I got married I didn’t want them. So when we decided we did I wanted to let her know so
A) she would be happy not think it was an accident
B) I could explain before hand I wanted it to and my husband didn’t pressure me into it. 
I also confided in my cousin who struggled for years to get pregnant so I had an idea of what to expect as I didn’t think it would be a wham bam thank you mam job for me with my medical history and age.
