When to announce pregnancy?

It’s my first baby... I want to announce it as soon as possible so even if something does go wrong, I won’t be going through it alone... I’m only 6 weeks 3 days right now. So far , so good. I was thinking of announcing next week. Thoughts? When did you announce?

My husband and I are planning around 7 weeks. We are doing IVF so our family already know we did the transfer, so it will be difficult to keep them from posting after we have the heartbeat confirmation

We announced to our parents and siblings right away. We told the rest of the family after our first doctors appointment at 8 and half weeks. Told friends and work after 12 weeks. We haven’t posted anything on social media and I’m 20 and half weeks. The important people we want to know everything and don’t feel it necessary to put it all over social media. But it’s all up to you! And congrats on the pregnancy

I never announced on social media and don’t plan to. I may consider posting his birth for extended family I never see but I was very private about my pregnancy. 
My mum found out at 5 weeks, we told my partners parents around the same time and then I didn’t tell my grandparents until about 22 weeks. 
I liked that my parents and his parents knew early as the support was so beneficial and it meant we had help and advice from early on. Being so young and have a reasonably recent relationship made it even more helpful. I think you should tell your parents or close family and friends early and then wait until you’ve got pictures, etc to share if you decide to post on social media and share with extended family. That way you have support early on and something for others to physically see and relate to later on.

We announced at 12 weeks, went for a scan a few days later to find out baby had died at 8 weeks. I’m glad I announced because then my baby felt more real. I wouldn’t change it.
I’m pregnant with our rainbow. We told immediate family straight away as we wanted the support. A few days later we’ve told our closest friends who pray so we can have an army of prayer behind us. I doubt we will wait much longer after 12 weeks to share online but will probably tell people after I’ve had an earlier scan (I live in uk they usually only do the first one at 12 weeks). I think it’s good to wait for at least one scan. But honestly you two decide together! There is no wrong answer ❤️

The only downside to announcing publicly super early is that if something were to go wrong, then the people that don’t know something is wrong will still continue to congratulate you even after you’ve lost the baby. That might be difficult.. 
we told family at 6 weeks, employers at 9 weeks, and public at 11 weeks

We told immediate family at 6 weeks, extended family at 7 weeks, and work at 10 weeks. Social media will wait til probably 15 weeks lol

I waited until 10 weeks. My levels were monitored a lot more in the beginning bc I went a fertility doc and was transferred at 8 weeks and saw my reg doc twice before announcing just to be sure

I was going to announce after my 2nd appt which I will be around 6 weeks or maybe 7 weeks.. but reading the comments, now I’m scared.. I know my hubby wants to announce it right away because he is excited. Our close family friends found out at 3 weeks.

We told CLOSE family and a FEW close friends around 9 weeks. We didn’t announce to social media until 12 weeks.
