2 periods in one month?

Hey guys, this month I had my normal 5 day period. Then 2 weeks later had ANOTHER PERIOD! I’m 19 btw. It’s really confusing the first day it was dark red and was very light lasted 3-4 days? Has anyone ever done this before and know why?

Think of the "5 day, once a month" thing as an average, not what's necessarily common or normal. I have always been irregular, like one month bleeding for 8 days then the next for 2 or 3 and then starting 2 weeks later. I'm perfectly healthy according to my doctor, and the only time I have had "normal" cycles was when I was taking BC. If you start to experience extreme bleeding or pain then you need to see a doctor, but don't freak out if you don't always fit into the 28 day cycle. 😊
