Baby food?

When did you all first introduce baby food to your LO? My baby is 3 months now and we use baby oatmeal cereal in his bottle to satisfy him more (he’s been wanting to eat over 10 ounces of just formula!). 
I’m wondering when you all introduced baby foods. MIL is trying to get us to put baby food, like desert foods, in his bottle too, to satisfy him even longer. The jar of baby food we got is stage 1 from about 4 months plus, but I also know that doctors and mothers have differing opinions on when and what to feed their kid...

Don't. Wait until 6 months. I wouldn't recommend the cereal either unless his pediatrician specifically told you to. They need all the nutrients from formula and breastmilk.

Satisfying a baby to keep them full and happy isn’t always the best thing for them, health-wise... sure, they’re stuffed but their digestive systems can’t handle all of that yet. Plus, the more you give them the more they will want as time goes on. An overfed baby with formula and foods can be predispositioned to childhood obesity (learned this from my lactation nurse)

I’d be getting a new pediatrician if they told me to give my 3 month old anything but breastmilk or formula. Cereal or baby food before 6 months replaces the intake of the needed calories from breast milk or formula. If the baby isn’t satisfied with 10 oz, then I’d be offering them more.

PLEASE STOP! This is not safe at all. Your child is way too young to be having anything besides breast milk or formula. Talk to your pediatrician please. 6 months is normally the earliest to start. And NEVER put any type of food in a bottle. It’s for liquids only.

I’m confused as to why everyone is saying six months for solids? My doc said four months and all the moms I know did the same.
