Seriously about to cry! I'm due for my second round of Depo on the 4th but I don't know if I can do it with these awful periods. 😫 anyone else had similar side effects to the Depo shot?

I was on the depo shots about 5 years ago and only did like 3 rounds of shots because of the CONSTANT periods made me miserable! I would highly recommend looking into another form of birth control. I've only heard terrible things about that shot 😧

No to depo! I was on my period for 4 months straight! Not ok!

I'm sensitive to bc so it was not a good experience for me. I've found I need something that is quickly reversible if it doesn't agree with my body. I hated having to wait it or with the shot! Not worth it to me.

I'm on my second Mirena and love it. I was one that spotted for a couple months, but it wasn't as bad as the depo. Now my periods are a breeze compared to what they used to be, so I don't really mind still getting them.

Please find another birth control! Depo is so convenient but the side effects are awful! I bleed for 3months straight after having no period for a whole year. I gained 25lbs. Hairs are growing out of my neck now. Had little to no sex drive at times. And my doctor didn't recommend it as a long term bc. She said if I was going to be on it for more than a year, then I'd need to change my diet because it literally takes calcium from your bones! That was my last shot.

I was on the depo for 3 years and i had horrible periods at 1st and i wanted to quit my 3rd i went in and told the nurse i couldnt do it any more i cant stop bleeding she told be to do one more shot. So i did it ended that day haha and then i would bleed the day off my shot being due to the point i was waiting to be called back and i would start. But that lasted a couple shots then it stopped. But i gained 5 pounds every month for 3 years. But alot of people liked it. My fav bc was the paragard. At 1st it was terrible.

Just posted about this. First time I tried depo was after having my baby 2 years ago. I bled for 5 months straight, followed by chronic abdominal pain, I thought it was associated with all the hormonal changes adding onto the depo. So I tried it again today and I feel absuteky horrible. Not even an hour after the shot, got a migraine, cramping, abdominal
Pain and my period came down after just having it.. I definitely won't be getting a second round

I was on Depo for a few years and rarely if ever got my period. Maybe you should speak with your Dr. Yo see what's best for you. An IUD is really great or the NuvaRing also. Good luck!

I had the same thing on top of that I gained 30 lbs off one shot and I was sick every day. It got to the point where I would just pass out.... i wouldn't recommend it for anyone. That stuff is poison. My husband did research on it and said they use it on sex offenders some places to decrease sex drive and whatever else it does to them..

Yep month long periods on depo... I do NOT miss that. Just say no to depo!
