being induced means C-section?

My doctor told me my due date is on the 22nd of September. He also said I have the option to get induced on the 7th because my husband's job wants an "exact date" asap for when he needed the paternity leave 🙄 does me being induced mean I'll have a c-section? The doctor didn't say anything about that and I didn't think about it until now. He just said at my next appointment this month, he'd check if I'm dilating and he'd see what was recommended.

37 weeks isn’t even full term. He shouldn’t be inducing you that early.

It doesnt mean you will end up with a c section. But I would be very concerned that your doctor is offering an induction so early without reason other than convenience. A lot of important maturation happens in the last weeks and he is putting your baby at risk for breathing, eating, and blood sugar issues unnecessarily.

Personally, I would only ever get induced for medical reasons.  It’s unnecessary otherwise and statistically does put you more at risk of getting a c-section (but it’s not a guarantee). 
On another note, your husband’s work is being really inflexible and dumb with this exact date stuff.  I wish I had advice there...  if you doctor says there is no sign of premature labor, I’d just put 2-3 days before the due date as the starting date.  🤷🏼‍♀️

It absolutely does not mean that. My sister was induced twice (her babies did NOT want to leave her uterus). She has very simple, uneventful labors and vaginal deliveries for both— she says labor and delivery was her favorite part of pregnancy!

I was induced 3 times and never needed one. If you want to ensure no section, tbh, the epidural is what makes it more likely. But it depends on your body. Some are induced AND have an epidural with no section. Others go into labor naturally, have no pain meds, & end up with a c-section. All labors are different.
In answering your question, NO. Being induced does not mean you will have to have a c-section.

No. When I was induced they had me on an IV drip of a synthetic hormone called pitocin. Your body goes into labor with the natural hormone oxytocin. Pitocin does the same exact thing. I went into active labor a couple hours after being on the drip. They put me on it around 8 at night, I had my son at 10:38 the next morning.
