I was in 5th grade! I don’t remember the day officially but I know it was the last week of May 2009. I had taken the day off from school because I had to be at a court hearing with my mom. I felt so tired and like drained even though I had a full night’s sleep. I wasn’t cramping... but I felt like I had to pee every 5 minutes. When we got home, I ran to the bathroom and there it was. My first blood stained panties. I called my mom over, who sat down and taught me how to put on a pad and ran a warm shower for me. She also showed me how to remove stains from underwear. I am grateful she didn’t go running to tell EVERYONE that I got it like my other friends’s moms had. She just told my dad just in case I spent the weekend with him and I got it 🤷🏻‍♀️ First 3 years of my period were unstable! It could be 15 days apart, or 3 months apart.

I don’t know how old I was in fourth grade, but I got it towards the end of fourth grade.
