Very light period

So I didn’t track this month. But my period started right on time but it was so late I didn’t even need a pad or a tampon when I put a tampon in it was very uncomfortable because it was completely dry. I completely stopped what I thought was my period for one day and then I started bleeding again again so late that I don’t need a pad or a tampon it only comes out on the toilet paper when I use the bathroom does anybody know why or had this happen before?
