Ingrown hairs bad

I have been using an epilator for sometime now and have never had an issue but lately literally everyone on my hair have been growing back as ingrown hairs. Some are super painful and puss if I agitate them. Does anyone have any advice?? I obviously can’t pluck each one because there are so many and I’ve been trying to exfoliate but I don’t want any of the scrub to get into my labia or near my vagina because I am prone to yeast infections and BV.
