The guy I’m dating sucks his thumb.. he’s 29.. was wondering if this is normal and not weird 😭 I still very much like him.

It might be a comfort thing, maybe he has anxiety or something. I suck and chew on the hood straps of my hoodies and jerseys (at my ripe of old age 31).

Maybe it's a security thing if you really like him then just consider this one of his weird quirks and don't over think it. Maybe ask him about it later on after a few more dates or so.

Ask him about it. Try to tell him you aren’t judging or anything just curious so he feels more comfortable telling you. It could be an anxiety comfort thing just like biting nails or fiddling. Many people do it.

I mean, it’s not exactly common or “normal” at that age, but it happens. I sucked my finger until I was about 20 or so. At that point, I was only doing it when I was very bored or tired though. And then, I just randomly stopped completely. It’s basically like a security thing though. Is it weird? Sure. But, he could be doing far weirder things lol.
