Ever since I decided to become a Art therapist and when people ask me: “ What are you going to school for” & I reply with “ I’m studying to be an art therapist.” They freeze. Then look at me sideways and reply “What’s that?” . I have no idea why everyone acts like it’s such a weird or usual job. I’m a therapist that uses art as a method of explaining. I don’t know if it’s because I’m from the south or people actually don’t know what it is. So please, maybe share some advice for a first year, and struggling art therapist in college.
