Why don’t you like Francisco?

Question

I made a poll a while ago between different Hispanic names for boys and there was very little love for Francisco. I still like the name and it’s a relatively common name where I’m from. While we’re choosing a different name for a first boy, I still like it for a possible future boy #2. Still I want to know why most people don’t like it in case I’m missing something. If it’s just a matter of  taste then I’ll probably still use it.

It’s a good hispanic name. I’m not sure why anyone would doubt it. Sure I think of California but aren’t most cities starting with San named after a saint? So Saint Francis? Totally awesome name!

I don’t think you should take it personally at all. Maybe people weren’t taking into account that you are Hispanic and wanted a traditional name. Honestly with all these trendy names circulating it’s not as common to name a child something traditional anymore and since it’s both traditional and Hispanic it narrows down the audience a bit. I think it’s super cute and you should name your little boy whatever you like😊 these polls are made up of a lot of different ages and ethnicities so you never know who made up the majority of your original post. I am not Hispanic so the name wouldn’t be something I would have personally thought about naming my children but that doesn’t mean I don’t like it. Good luck momma!

i dont hate it. its always a matter of taste or what rolls off the tongue better with names. i love The City so that could be a reason why id chose it. personally wouldnt otherwise but its not bad !

I find the sound "cisco" unpleasant sounding to begin with, and it being an IT company name makes it even more unattractive. So any name that included the sound "cisco" I personally would dislike.

I picture a man in his late 40s, maybe just one of those older names that isn’t ready for a come back yet. Also I hate the name Frank so it reminds me of that.
