OBGYN or Midwife?

What type of care are you receiving during your pregnancy and why? If other please describe!

The OBGYN practice I'm going to has OBs and midwives. My first appt I saw a midwife and my second appointment is with a different midwife. I believe they rotate practitioners so you can meet them all so you know whoever is on call when you go into labor.

Originally I wanted a midwife. It the practice we visited constantly screwed us over. My regular OBGYN has been wonderful and now we plan to hire a doula to be with us during labor as well as have the doctor and nurses there!

The practice I go to is owned and operated by a male OBGYN but he does employ female midwives.

Im using the same ob/gyn that took care of me during my first pregnancy and delivered my son. I love him and he is the best dr ever!!

Answer

My provider lets me see midwives locally as long as the pregnancy is not high risk. The hospital where the OB is is 20 mins away :/
