Not over night  but  during the day while I was wake

Only for nap time and I could keep a close eye on them, and still that was only IF they fell asleep in it. The seat is inclined and IF the baby scoots/wiggles downward they can accidentally block their airways or make if harder for them to breath. 
Lay reclined enough where your chin is pushed against your chest and try breathing out of you nose... keep in mind it's easier for us adults to breath because we know to open our airways wider.

I’ve used a rock and play for the first 3 months or so with both of mine. Then transitioned to the crib. Never used a bassinet.

Not all the time, but there were definitely a few very difficult nights, where I just let her do it. The problem with doing this is that they risk getting torticollis if it happens too often.
