My Birth Story: Baby turning breech half way through labor!

Amanda

One thing is for sure, my child was sassy from the moment she was created. Even in the womb, she had so much personality. She was also my rainbow baby, my fighter. We had several problems throughout the pregnancy. From fear of spinal muscular dystrophy to premature labor. I made it 38 weeks and 3 days against the odds. That was my induce date, but I wasn't expected to last that long. On March 7th we went in around 4pm to be induced. I was terrified but excited! Around 5 my doctor came and put the balloon thing in. That thing hurt! Plus it took a couple tries. Besides that, everything is going smoothly. The contractions weren't bad and I was able to sleep from 12 until about 8:30 am. It started to get pretty painful, my doctor came and checked me, I was at 5cm. I decided to get the epidural. Everyone says that it doesn't hurt and that is a lie!Maybe it was just the people at my hospital, but it took a few tries and hurt like hell! Anyways, a couple different nurses came in to check me. I started to get curious as to why. My doctor finally comes back in and checks. "Yup, that's a foot." he says. My baby had turned breech half way through labor! He decides to try and turn her, well, she decides that she doesn't want to be turned and pushes back against him. So emergency c section it is! I'm bawling at this point. I have horrible anxiety and this was one of my worst fears. They get me to surgery and get my boyfriend ready to come in. They start poking me to make sure I can't feel anything. Well, I can. They decide to put me completely under. Telling my boyfriend he can't come in and leaving me to sob by myself as they put me to sleep. Next thing I know, I can hardly see, but my baby is being put in my arms."What does she look like!?" I say. That whole day afterwards I can hardly remember. But I know it was still the best day of my life. On March 8th, at 10:56 am, Alaylah Marie Knight was born. She is my entire heart and

soul.

Here she is at 5 months now!
