Bf help

I was dating this guy for a year and a half and we started fighting bc I got very stressed and so did he and he got mad bc I was always mad and he didn't know what to do so we broke up but now we both have feeling for each other we have both tried dating other people but it just wasn't the same I didn't say anything to him but finally tonight he said "idk she doesn't kiss like u she doesn't laugh like u and she doesn't get the same wrinkle in her nose when she laughs it just isn't the same I can't find anyone I love like I love you there is nobody I love more than i love u" but he doesn't want to date again bc he says he isn't ready for a relationship but what do you guys think is he playing with me or does he actually mean it
