Birth control how soon after giving birth?!?!?

Due 10/15 and want to ensure that we’ve got some time between babies because unfortunately, my job doesn’t allocate much time for maternity benefits. How soon after giving birth can birth control be used? FTM here. :) Thanks for any/all info!

They prescribed mine at my 6w checkup. I did the mini pill since I breastfed.

My doctor put me back on the pill at 2 weeks postpartum

I'm not sure when I'll actually start taking it, but I'm 34 weeks and my doctor asked what I wanted to do for birth control after.  I assumed that means they'll give it to me at b three hospital?
