What age should kids be allowed to start dating?

I just want to know your opinion on when you think it's okay for kids to start dating.

When they are mature and educated enough about what happens if they find themselves in a sexual situation cause let’s be honest, no one can plan or knows when that could happen. I definitely would not let my 8 year old date lol. That’s still a child. Maybe 14-15 depending on maturity level or where the date will be.

My mom had a rule where I couldn’t date until I was 16, and I totally ignored it and got a bf when I was 12, and it was literally the worst decision of my life, so I wish I had waited till I was 16. I’m 17 now and still not ready for a relationship

I think it depends on the kid. I grew up in a small town so “dating” consisted hanging out with boys who were my best friends since kindergarten. Everyone knew everyone. I wasn’t allowed to go to movies alone with them until I was 15. My parents would legit sit a few rows back from us in the movie theater lol.
