Any tips for surviving a beach vacation while on period?

We will be leaving for Florida Saturday on a 14 hour drive to get there and more than likely I’ll be on my period or start while there. Any recommendations or tips on making a period with intense cramps and heavy periods managable so I can still have a great vacation? I’ve been looking forward to this trip all summer and I am super bummed that I’ll probably be on my period the whole time. Our condo is right on the beach with several pools so our days will mostly be spent outside at the beach and pools. Ever since I got my tubes tied a year ago they’ve been pretty intense.

I live in Florida, and never understood why people stress when they get their period. I've  always simply  just put in a tampon and go about my day.

I wouldn’t try a menstrual cup if you haven’t used one before. It can be a little challenging at first. It totally is a game changer though. I love mine. But if your willing to mess with it then go for it! I love mine but it took me a good two cycles before I was really comfortable with it.
Tampons will be your friend. It’s really just like going swimming in a pool. Make sure you shower after and change in between depending on how long your there. But if your just not feeling great then just wear some comfy shorts and a shirt, it will still be fun you just might not go swimming.

Okay so I had my period while on our vacation to Cape Cod a few weeks ago. I packed lots of pads, tampons, a few empty shopping bags for trash, lots of underwear and extra clothes. I would fill one of our beach bags with my supplies and periodically go to the bathroom to check/change. I don’t know how the beaches are in Florida but in Cape Cod all the beaches had at the very least a port-a-potty and garbage cans close by so there were options to change a tampon. I would assume that Florida beaches have some sort of changing stalls and/or bathroom of some type to utilize. Also pack anything you may need for pain relief, any snacks you might want, stuff like that. 
Tampons are going to be your best bet with the beach. Its doable as long as you stay on top of changing tampons when needed. Good luck!
