Does saliva kill sperm?

I was reading online that saliva can kill sperm, not sure if it was true or not.

My fertility specialist said Saliva is harmful to sperm and to use sperm safe lubes like preseed instead.

It isnt the correct alkalinity for sperm but I dont think it actively kills them

Actually when you do a IUI they say do NOT use saliva study's  have shown it does in fact kill some sperm off.

I mean, hubs and I honestly use saliva as lube and we got pregnant with our daughter
