Chiara

Sara

I’m having a daughter around end of August or early September. I’m native Italian and my son has an old fashioned Latin based name that is still somewhat popular in Italy and my daughter will be named Chiara, which is a very popular name there. In Italy the “Ch” sound is a hard C, but we live in the US where “Ch” is usually a soft C.

I was wondering if people will see the name Chiara and pronounce it with a soft C or is it obvious that it’s pronounced with a hard C like Kiara? I’ve heard both but I want to see what you all think.
