2nd baby experience?

Question

I had my daughter at 34wks, she was in the NICU for 14days. She’s now 2.5yrs, and we want to TTC next year. My doctor already told me I’ll see a high risk dr and will have to get the p17 shots. Those who had a preemie and then had another baby, was your 2nd also a preemie? If not, did the shots help and how much further did you make it? I’m very anxious about another preemie and Nicu experience... anything you want to share would be helpful

My first pregnancy (2012) had him at 31 w&5d. He’s perfectly fine. 
5 years later I decided to try again , I went into preterm labor at 23w&1 day (April 2017) , she lived for 3 weeks. For that pregnancy I was on makena shots.
Changed my ob after that lost. 
I am now 33 Weeks & 4 Days , I was having contractions fro two days . They were able to stop them and I am on complete bed rest right now and taking medicine every 4 hours for contractions. I have a cerclage placed in at 13 Weeks and receive weekly Makena injections. Longest time I’ve been pregnant.

My son was born at 36weeks( witch isn’t to early but put me at risk for another premature baby), I waited 7 years in between my son and daughter but that didn’t help because my daughter was born at 34weeks

After three years of trying to get pregnant, we conceived our first with the help of IUI. He was born at 35 weeks, but was healthy and required only 6 hours in the NICU. They never found out what triggered my water breaking. 
My son is now 21 months old and I just had my second child 2 weeks ago. She was born at 40+1... and labor started the same way; my water broke at home. She was conceived naturally. 
With my second pregnancy they wanted me to take progesterone injections, but the specialists said it was too risky for my health because I’d have a history of ocular migraines and the additional hormones increased my risk of stroke. Everything worked out for the best those and I now feel very fortunate to have two healthy babies.

It's taken me 8 years to finally decide to have baby #2. My daughter was born at 31 weeks and spent a month in the NICU. Tomorrow I'll be 19 weeks with my second and I'm being watched carefully, but my doctor decided against the progesterone shots. Instead, I'll be getting weekly ultrasounds starting at about 25 weeks to check my cervix, and if need be, I'll be getting a cerclage to try to prevent dilation. Really hoping to prevent another preemie, especially with another kid in the mix I can't imagine having to split my days between the NICU and home (the closest NICU is over an hour and a half away). Only time will tell.
