Should I be worried?🤔

I don’t really know what to think.. but I want y’alls opinions on this.

Ok so me and this guy are like in a “situationship” is what I’ll call it. He doesn’t really want to make things official yet🤷‍♀️. We’ll call him C. Well, C and I both like each other, and like I said we’re in a situationship since we haven’t made things official yet (ik confusing). Well, C talks to, and is around a LOT of girls. And when I say a lot, I’m talking like 25+. He’s respectful and stuff, but lately I’ve been hearing from people that C’s a player. I’ve known him a good year, and when he was dating other girls he never made a move on me whatsoever. He was just friendly. So I’ve never thought of him as a PLAYER, just a ladies man. Plus I’d never make him ditch friends for me, male or female. Especially since I have male friends. Well, yesterday we were on the phone, and he brings up some girl that he knows, which isn’t surprising because obviously, C knows a lot of girls. But, he started saying how she’s a model, a cheerleader, and how pretty she is. And I’m like “oh.. cool” and he continues talking about her until I just say “hey I gotta go.” It made me feel super insecure🤷‍♀️ he talked about her like he was super interested, and I got a little jealous tbh. Well apparently he was going to see her, so I didn’t text him at all until later that night. When C texted me last night, I told him how I felt about the whole thing, and he got defensive saying how he always tells me “ily” and stuff so how could I feel insecure. He got weird acting, and hasn’t talked to me since last night. I talked to my friends about it, and they all think he’s gonna end up cheating on me intentionally or not, and how he’s purposely trying to make me jealous. It’s been stressing me out. Does this seem like a red flag? Or did I just overreact to the whole thing?
