Does your period affect your breastfeeding/baby?

I’m 2 months post partum and I started my first period yesterday. I exclusively breast feed and I noticed my daughter has been really fussy since my period has started, especially while nursing. It seems like she’s not getting enough milk or the flow is too slow for her and she gets frustrated.

Is this normal? I was going to pump to see how much milk I could get and determine whether I’m actually producing enough but baby girl has been wanting to nurse constantly it seems. Could it be the hormones? She just went though a leap and was fine for a few days and then my period started and we’re back to fussy and cranky lol.
