My sweet little Lucy Ann joined us at 8:55 am on August 13, 2018. I was scheduled for an induction at 7:30, but started having contractions right when I woke up at 5:45 am. The contractions were already 3 minutes apart and our hospital is an hour away, so we were FLYING down the highway. When I got checked in my doctor checked me and I was at a 5. They put in the order for an epidural and said she would check back after her procedure. Half an hour later (~7:50) my nurse wanted to check me because my "eyes were getting a little squinty". She then "lost her game face" and called the on-call physician and I heard her say that I was complete. It turns out I was an 8, but baby was so low that she couldn't get a good read. I all of a sudden realized that I wasn't getting an epidural and started trying to prepare myself. The pain wasn't really that bad until she crowned and then I wanted to die haha
