Should I get this tattoo when I’m 18?

When I turn 18 I want to get a tattoo for my birthday. I don’t plan on it being big or flashy but I’ve wanted this since I was 14 and I’m 16 now and I know much time hasn’t passed but I think I really do want to get it.
I want to get a semicolon. I want to have it on my wrist or between one of my fingers so it’s not too visible. I’ve thought about it because I’ve been through a lot like self harm, abuse, etc etc. Do you think it’s a good idea?

I get that it means something to you but I feel like so many people have gotten it, so maybe you would want to get something more creative and personal.

Yes!! I’ve always wanted a semicolon, I’ve had depression for 3-4 years now and I’m 15. I’ve wanted one ever since I knew what it meant. I absolutely plan on getting one once I turn 18. If you want it, go for it. It’s your body, so it’s your choice!

Yes, it looks great and it stands for something that’s important to you. One thing to keep in mind is that small tattoos on your fingers are likely to fade within a few years and it’ll just end up looking like the picture below. I think it’ll last longer on the wrist, but it’ll also be prone to fading because it’s such a small, fine tattoo. It has an easy fix though- you’ll just need to go into a tattoo parlor and just get a “touch up.”
