Is Hazel too popular ?

I'm in love with the name Hazel but everything I read says it's the top 20 names of 2018 in Canada and the top 43 of 2018 in North America.
I don't want her to grow up with other people with the same name and have to be referred to by her last initial in class.

Idk about Canada but in the US, parents are getting so creative, looking at rankings, and making sure their children’s names are unique that the rankings have drastically been altered. 
The #1 ranked name Emma is given to just around 1% of girls born in 2017. Whereas in past decades the #1 name was given to at least 7% of baby girls born in the given year. I’m estimating low because I’m too lazy to check exactly. Go back even further in time and names like Mary and Linda were given to around 10% of girls. 
What I’m trying to say is that the Hazels of tomorrow will not go through what the  Jennifers, Jessicas, Megans, and Sarahs of yesterday went through. 
Of course if you want to be super safe you can look for something extremely unpopular. I don’t think there are many Gertrudes any more. All kidding aside Opal is a less popular alternative that reminds me of Hazel.

It’s definitely popular where I am. One thing I cannot stress enough, though, is that this idea that a child won’t have their own identity if they share a name with a classmate is really, truly not a thing. I have a common name and always had plenty of classmates with the same name, and I do not recall experiencing any more peer pressure from girls who had my name than I did from girls with a different name. I don’t recall ever confusing myself with another child by the same name (as in, thinking I was that person — we definitely got our papers and supplies mixed up sometimes). I don’t recall comparing myself more harshly to a random classmate with my name than I would to someone with whom I had actual similarities. Is this loss of identity something that you’ve ever heard of happening? It gets mentioned on here quite a lot but it sounds so hard to imagine — was there some study about it or something?
