Penelope popularity???

So one of our top 2 names is Penny. Not Penelope just Penny. But I'm seeing Penelope EVERYWHERE all of a sudden. Are all those Penelopes going to go by Penny and make it super popular? :( how many do you know? How many do you know are planning to name baby girls Penelope?

We're planning on using Penelope. But for personal reasons. My papaw always called me Penelope growing up. I though it would be a sweet way to honor him.

My cousins name is Penelope, I call her Penny, her mom doesn't. All her friends call her Penny, but I think it's a cute name popular or not.

I think it depends on where you live. I have only heard of Penelope for kourtney kardashian, Terra from little women LA, and a few polls on here. If you want Penny I would go for it. I think although it's gaining in popularity it will never have the popularity of 80s-90s Ashley.

My cousin just named their beautiful daughter Penelope. Their other choice was Miami 😕
I'm soooo glad they stick with Penelope! It's way cuter! Penny is also cute both as an actual name/nickname.

We are highly considering this name for our daughter. Our two-year-old likes the nickname Poppy :) I've been hearing a lot of talk about it, but haven't actually met any Penelopes...

Only penny (or Penelope) I've heard of was Penny on the tv show Lost. Don't know anyone with that name in my area. Located in Missouri.

My brother and sister in law were going to name their baby Penelope. And call her Penny for short. But they ended up naming her something else.  I don't see that name very often :) so I think you're probably safe.
