Baby hates daycare

My baby is 11 months old (time flies!). He has been going to daycare for at least 3 half days a week to get him ready for full days for over a month now. I was supposed to go back to work part time last week, but government paperwork is slooooow.

The problem is he screams bloody murder when I drop him off, doesn’t sleep or eat there. It is not the nicest place, smells, and the floor looks nasty. 😷. I hate taking him.

I also go to the Y and he goes to child watch there about an hour, several times a week. He loves it. Reaches for the workers at drop off and cruises around the room and plays with the toys. I bothers me that he seems to love one and hate the other.

I’m a wreck taking him to the daycare. I feel so guilty. I just want to stay home with him, but my family could use the money due to unexpected emergency medical bills... and if I don’t return to work ASAP it will be almost impossible to re-enter my professional field 😣. I’m a big baby.

I am on other childcare wait lists but they are so long and/or he needs to be walking. I have no family/friends near to help out. I don’t know how to find an at- home childcare that I trust or a nanny who will work 2-3 days a week. I bought a Care.com membership but.... I don’t know about that.
