You CAN do it!!

Sarah

I wanted to share my story with you all. I had my first born on Monday morning at 420am, he was two days beyond his due date and I was ready to finally meet him. From before I even got pregnant I was sure I wanted to have an all natural, unmedicated hospital birth. While I started out at 5' 10" and only 120 lbs I wasn't letting the comments from others get to me, whether it was my small frame, the pain to come, or whatever other comments people came up with. I started having contractions at 8pm just really uncomfortable not necessarily painful, by 11pm I jumped in a hot shower until the hot water burned out and thought I'd try to get a little sleep. Silly me, no sleep an hour later so I got up and paced and bounced on the edge of the bed, had my fiancé massage my back pain. By 1am the contractions were up to 25-30 sec long and every 3-5 minutes I called my doctor and he told me I was okay at home but could go to hospital for assistance with the pain if needed. I stayed home. At about 315am I toldy partner we'd go in another hour but only a few minutes went by before I told him we needed to go now. Then pain was becoming two much and I had already showered a second time so there was no hot water left to relieve the pain. By the time we packed all the car and got to the hospital it was almost 4am and I checked in quickly while the contractions reached a level I had not felt before. The nurse gave me a gown to change and I found myself biting down onto it sitting the toilet, I thought I had to poop, something gushed out of me followed by my mucus plug l. The nurse said I needed to get in bed now, I argued it because I thought I needed to use the bathroom. Needless to say she was right, I was forced into bed and told I was 9 cm and my doctor would not make it. 5 or 6 people swarmed into my room and I was ready to push, and less than 20 minutes late my miracle arrived. No medication, only a few stiches but my boy was in my arms. Meet Sterling Axel Cruz born at 8 lbs 0 oz on 8/13/18 at 420am
