I went to the Emergency Room the night of Aug 13th around 7:30pm because I felt like I was getting a cold. I called my doctors nurse line and they were going to call me back but my head was hurting, I couldn’t keep anything down and just felt blah. I was sent to L&D; to get checked out because I was only a few days shy of 37 weeks. I was monitored and found out my blood pressure was high and I was having contractions. The nurse checked me at 8:30and I was only at 1cm and 50% effaced. They did blood tests, ultrasound, urine test and by 10:00pm the nurse checked me again at I was at 3. 11:00pm I was at a 5 and they called the dr on call. My daughters heart rate would dip slightly when I was having a contraction so the dr felt it would be best to perform a c section. I was sad because I really wanted to have a natural delivery and I had made it so far but my health and my daughters health was so much more important to me. By 12:00am they were prepping me for my csection and I was extremely nervous. At 1:15am Mia was born and daddy was taking pictures and telling me how much hair she had. By 1:50am I was in recovery and breast feeding. She was 7 pounds and 11 ounces. We are both doing well and should be going home today the 16th. The catch is now we both share the birthdate of Aug 14th. She truly is the best birthday present I’ve received!
