Sharp pain and mucus at 4 weeks, 4 days?

I am 4w 4d pregnant. My doctor is concerned my hcg levels are too low. We check for doubling tomorrow. 
Tonight, I felt a sharp pain in my uterus several times and then some clear thick cm came out. 
Normal? Miscarrying?
